Love will not encourage one to make a choice that can harm others. Love is the strength, courage and conviction to do what is right and good, over what only feels right and good. At times pursuing what is right and good for the sake of love, might entail a sacrifice to self, but once love is truly experienced the joy love provides can never, ever diminish. The sacrifice nourishes love with honor, respect and adoration and thereby keeps love alive. But the impulsive choice to yield to self what feels right and good, despite the knowledge of causing harm to others, is not motivated by love. Only lust can convince a person to gratify self at the expense of another’s pain and then use the word ‘love’ as an excuse.
